When praying for Avalanche and the will of God in the conference, He began to speak really specifically. During the last few months we have felt the Lord saying to us as a team ---- wait, wait and wait.

Many of you probably were wondering about what is going on with Avalanche 2008. Well -- we were at the same place! We are thankful for what God has done in the last years and have been continually overwhelmed by His faithfulness and presence in all the Avalanche weekends.

During the last Avalanche – The Genesis -- we had already felt a shift and we know that God is continuing this shift. He is on the move and all we want to do is follow in His footsteps. Whenever we sat together to pray and ask about this year’s conference, we felt the challenge of God to wait because He wants to change things. Our heart is not just to continue because the conference has been done for so many years but to hear what His next steps really look like.

So with this direction, we will not have an Avalanche Youth conference for 2008 because we believe God is preparing us all for something new. We don’t know how this will look and what that means, but all we hear from HIM is: Wait!

God is challenging us that this process of waiting shouldn’t be passive but active. So through asking what that could mean, we felt compelled to spend time focused on HIM and to invite you to wait with us.

We will be setting aside 24 hours of waiting through praise, worship and prayer. We will have different bands, styles of worship, and prayer. All of this is with one goal and one alone: To wait on HIM! He deserves our full attention and He is excited to spend this time with us.

If you are looking for a youth conference to take your youth to where they can experience fun, fellowship and God -- this is probably not the right weekend for you because it will be not like the Avalanches before. (History Maker, Chilliwack and YC Alberta, Edmonton are great alternatives) But if you are excited about 24hr’s straight for God and HIM alone than we want to invite you to spend this time of waiting, worshipping and praying with us.

We believe it will be an exciting time and are looking forward to what God has to say to us individually and corporately as the family of God. Our desire is to come like Mary and pour this precious oil of worship over the feet of Jesus. He is the one we want to live for.

If you would like to come and join us it will be from Friday May 16th starting at 7pm until Saturday May 17th ending around 7pm.

We’ve decided to keep administration and organizational structure to a minimum so that we can focus more on what God has for this time. There will be no registration fees but a free will offering to cover the costs. We will not organize free accommodation this year, but for the night of worship/prayer there will be two different rooms (boys and girls) where people can rest or sleep for a bit. It will be basic and simple.

If you have any more questions or would love to be involved in this event let us know. You can email: nico@newlife.bc.ca or call 250-762-4255

Bless you.
